Acrostic Poem

sunny days.

Pollen floating through the air.

Rainy days.

Insects buzzing through the air.

No more super cold days.

Grumpy people roaming around.

Production practices the descriptionIMG_4368.JPG
Production practice is a fun way to learn new things
Production is learning about stuff you probably not heard of before and acting what happened in real life. As you can see there have been funny moments focused moments where you had to pay attention and moments we're some people get frustrated. Production is cool and fun and is a time that we get out there and have some fun

Trees for survival picmonkey

On the 24th august we went to trees for survival planting day it was close to the Fonterra factory and along the side of the Waikato river.there were approximately 607 plants to plant that is a CRAZY amount of plants it wasn't that long until we had planted them all me and Nicholas and me had done at least 15 plants which was a lot. at the end we got a treat which was a cupcake they were delicious. Trees for survival planting day was really fun and I hope to go do the planting again someday.
This is trees for survival. Room 15 went to trees for survival on Thursday 24th of August. Trees for survival is when some schools go to plant trees so they survive. after we planted 600 trees in a few hours we got a special treat. we got cupcakes and juice before we hopped in the parents cars.

Trees for survival planting

On Monday 24th August 2017, we were doing tree's for survival planting it was hard work and we planted over 600 plants with another school it was very fun because we planted all of it with a different school .At the end we had a cupcake and juice it was delicious.I
had to take a tablet out of the ground and put a little bit of soil in and then take the plant out of the bag then put the tablet in the ground, and put the plant in and cover it up.And we went back to school,I went in Mrs Wyllie's car and we played for half an hour and packed and went home :)

Keeping Ourselves Safe Program

For the last 2 weeks room 15 have been learning about keeping ourselves safe.We have been learning about the positives and negatives about YouTube, Gmail, chatting to someone online that you don't know, snapchat and facebook. We also were learning about different types of abuse such as sexual abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse and mental abuse with the police officer constable Jacob. Room 15 also watched a video about cyber abuse. The most challenging bit for me was coming up with all the different types of abuse. The most easiest thing for me was the positives and negatives because you can do cool things and learn cool things.

Year 6 Painting

It was week five on tuesday 22nd of August 2017. We started off by going to the hall we sat down well Miss Wyllie and Miss Woolf were tell us the safety rules.Planks of wood were spreaded around the hall then we started sketching ourselves on the wooden planks. Then we started painting our portrait of ourselves. After morning tea we went over with sharpie and out lined our painting. After that I let my portrait dry so we could hang it up on the fence. So then we grabbed our things and had a good time.

Pic Monkey

This year the year 6's started off by sketching on a big piece of wood for about an hour after morning tea. We started painting, this took about 2 hours. My main colours were red and blue, I got stuck for 10 minutes doing my hair because there were no colours to use.  Next we added sharpie, it was easy we just needed to go around our body and clothing.

Cross Country

On the 26 of August 2017 all the 9-11 year olds walked down to Minogue park on a hot day for Cross Country.
Cross Country was a very challenging thing running up steep hills  and facing muddy puddles. But it was even better coming first in the 11 year old girls and coming third out of the 11 year old boys and girls. What a great day we all had and I hope you liked Cross Country too because I loved it so much. By Ashley-Jade Rm15

Trees For Trees For Survival

On Thursday the 24th of August 2017 Room 15 went to go represent Vardon school at the Trees for Survival Day. We went to go plant some of the trees that we had all ready planted at our school. It was just Vardon School and Pukete School. We all got delicious cupcakes and juice boxes. After that we went back to school and then we went home. Room 15 was all exhausted at the end of the day.

YEAR 6 PAINTING TASK

This is my year 6 painting task memorial for when we leave. This is so we can be remembered. This was a task that took a whole day to do. First we had to wear old clothes so when we paint it won't matter if you get paint on ourselves.
After that we drew off our draft onto the plank and if you finished fast you could start painting. Then the second block we carried on painting that was pretty hard to get it the way you wanted. In the third block we let them dry. To sharpie the outline it was also hard because the wood wasn't smooth. This is the process that it took to do the painting.

Fence painting

On Tuesday 22 August 2017 all the year 6 students started painting their fence art on a long wooden fence post. At first there was challenges like what colors to use and what to make your character wear but it all came together. Fence painting was so cool i loved it and this is the memory that Vardon School will remember me by. What an experience to have! Keep an eye out for these fence posts on the school field. They will be up in the next few weeks.

Trees For Survival day

On Thursday 23rd of August 2017, Room 15 and a class from Pukete School completed a project called Trees For Survival.
We planted the trees because they help New Zealand grow and supply the land with fresh oxygen, but most of all, it helps stop water pollution in the Waikato River as the roots of the plants stablise the soil.
The staff from fonterra showed how we should plant like green fingers.
Before we had to put the plant in the hole, we had to make sure a little tablet was in that hole. This 'tablet' acts as a fertilizer for the plants to make them grow fast, strong, and overall better for the environment. We had to make sure to carefully take the plant out of the bag, then level the stalk with the ground.
Everyone had to check that it wouldn't pull out, so we had to stomp the loose dirt around the plant so it could get a better grip onto the soil.
Room 15 and Pukete had to plant about 600 plants around the Fonterra factory.

Rawiri's Tree's for Survival Writing

On Thursday we  went  planting and it was cool.  I  saw the lake and heaps of trees and heaps of   bushes.

Abdullah's Pic Monkey

On Thursday 24th August 2017,at that day,we were on the go for a big planting trip to the side of the Waikato River near the Fonterra dairy. There was about 602 plants there and only 21 of us,but luckily there was I thing, 2 more classes to help us.It turned out it didn't take too long but I was able to plant quite a few.And we had juice and a cupcake too. Then we went back to school.

My Art picture

In room 15 the year 5s have been doing squiggling art. I used Blue, Orange, Red, Green, Yellow and purple. It was pretty easy but every colour took ages to colour. We have been only doing this for two days and a bit. This art could go for sale for my art shop when i'm older and every day i can look back and see the art.
We had to melt or blend the colours  so it looks like its actually 3D.

I’m Reghan i'm going to talk to you about my story about when i got struck by lightning. I was walking to school and it was raining I couldn't go in car because my Mum was running late for work, and i didn't have a sweatshirt on and the Lightning struck my arm but then the flash made me the smartest person alive. When i got to school I was late and it was Reading time and I'm Reading a chapter book and everyone was ahead of me and i looked at the book I read it in five seconds.

Harrison 100 word challenge

…but then the flash made me… go dizzy twirled around what kind of animal would go speeding past , i stroked my chin for a few minutes "oh its a cheetah one of the fastest mammal  ever" i said .I  had a enormous headache that night after that annoying cheetah twirled me around i had no
equipment i was feeling very dozy until ...Zzz...later that morning i was looking around i thought " wait what i was sleeping under a rock ".I then stood up and looked around i saw heaps of bones and skulls that was odd then i heard purring i knew strate away it was the cheetah's den.
My t-shirt was torn, my pants where a little torn so i quietly sneaked out then i ran for my life .

week 42 100 word challenge

On a beautiful sunny day me and my friends [ Emily and Tyra] went out for lunch at the Bake House until something started flashing. They turned around Gradually and we were frightened we had never seen anything like it. And that flash was a lightning BOLT .I was so SHOCKED  .The lightning bolt came zooming around me but then the flash made me jump up in the air  so high that I touched the clouds. Then back down I came landing on lightning bolt  so then me Emily and Tyra became best forever friends and we lived happily ever after.

Making Material Bags

Room 15 are trying to reduce the amount of plastic so we came up with making material bags instead of plastic bags. We decided to do this after we did the waste audit. When we did the waste audit we found 33 kilograms of rubbish in a day,and a school found that in a week.

First we went and made some paper bags as some ideas. Then when the material came we finished the paper bags and started making material bags. The trickiest bit about material is it flops over a lot and you need special scissors to cut it, but you can cut it with normal left or right handed.

Waste Audit reflection

On wednesday the Tui team went out on the courts to do a waste audit. The first thing we did was spread out a tarpaulin and put boxes with name tags on them.Next we put on some white powdery gloves on and helped put the rubbish on the tarp. Then we had a look at the rubbish to see what we saw then we shared what we saw on the tarp. Then we lined up in one big line and went in a circle and picked up two or three things and put them into the correct box. There were things like bottles, paper, plastic bags, soft plastics, plastic food bags and many more. When we finished we found 33 kilograms of rubbish in one day and a school found that amount of rubbish in one week. Now we are motivated to make honey wrap(beeswax wrap) so we can replace glad wrap. We also are making material bags instead of plastic bags (soft plastic bags).

Malaika's Speech

My speech was about rapping. I felt confident at the time but as soon as I hit the stage I got nervous but I still did it and it was so fun.

My speech performance

My speech is about happiness.I chose happiness because I know a lot about happiness like how to be happy and what is happiness. When I did my speech I was really nervous but I tried not to show it,doing a speech is really scary but I managed to get through it.If I could go back and do my speech again I would give more eye contact.I think I did really well I hope I will go to the semi finals.😀

-Tyana

speech reflection

On wednesday I presented my speech. It was about money. I spoke with a clear voice and had lots of eye contact. l had a use of props and big expression. It was really nerve racking. I saw my whole class waiting for me to start. I heard the confident sound of my voice. Overall I think that I did very well !

My speech

I went first in my class in speeches, and I was very nervous. My speech was on the  Cavaliers. I was scared about talking to the class. But then I got used to it, and I did it, I was so happy.I had finally done it.Hopefully I got an alright score I think this was my best speech ever.

100 word challenge

...I just couldn't eat something so.... I spat it out onto the mayor's face. I don’t know why he gave me brussel sprouts after I said I hate them because they taste gross. I just wish I liked them if I liked them I would want them to taste like chocolate! But maybe it's just me I could be all over myself for this I could just of done something like had it with cheese or something. No it’s my fate i’m just a non brussel sprout mate. But I better run because I know the guards are after me!

100 Word Challenge

…I just couldn’t eat something so… GROSS that I didn’t order. It did not taste very nice. It tasted like dog food, so I threw it out onto the road for all the cats and dogs to eat. After that I ordered from another restaurant and they had a delicious meal that I couldn’t stop eating .I kept ordering it until I went to go have a drink of water. As it was going down my throat I didn’t feel really good because I had eaten 20 plates of eggs on toast. Then I went home and had a sleep.

Camp Karakariki 2017

Camp Karakariki

In week 7 and 8 the year 5 and 6 students went to Karakariki Christian Camp. We did fun and challenging activities like rock climbing, swimming, caving, bmx riding, air rifle shooting, archery, kayaking, energise games and many more! We also hiked to the freezing waterfall and swam. Some kids were brave enough to jump off the waterfall. My favourite part of camp was rock climbing because I pushed my limits by abseiling down a huge 10 metre wall. The most challenging part for me was swimming in water where I couldn't touch the bottom with my feet. Luckily we had done swimming lessons as school before hand which helped train us for a situation such as this.I would recommend camp to people who are adventurous and wanting to push their limits. Camp Karakariki is the best!

Camp Parent robot

Camp Parent Robot
This is my drawing of a parent robot. The parent robot has four arms and one hexagon head he also has a 6 pack ( which means he's muscly). The parent robot has 4 arms because he does everything for his owner, the 6 pack is so can lift 4 heavy pieces of furniture at once . You might be thinking that he was born with one old hexagon head well you're wrong that head is made out of pure steel. That is for all the thinking he will need to do at camp. My camp parent has springs on his legs. If someone was going to step  on a giant prickly plant he would spring over and pick him or her up and chop that prickle plant into tiny tiny smithereens.

What I want to get out of camp?

What I want to get out of camp?

I want to get over my fears like heights and to try and also to learn more and to get stronger at over-coming challenges.

How am I going to achieve it?
I'm going to achieve it by believing in my self and to have faith and to give it a go.

swimming sports

On Friday room 15 , 4,7,8 and 3 went to Te Rapa pools for swimming sports. There were races like backstroke, breaststroke, freestyle and a whole lot more. When we got there, we got changed into our togs;some of us were already in our togs under our clothes. When we were seated we started the races. Lucky for me I didn’t come last in every race like last year. A lot of people came first ,second and third I only came third once which was in the backstroke width. The last race was relays. There were 10 people out of 4 teams. The ten people were split in half so there were 5 on each side of the pool. When the clapper went they started the race. Room 15 came 3rd in the relay.

Olly's reflection on tabloid sports.

On Monday 19th of February 2017 was tabloid sports. My personal favourite would have to be the egg and spoon race because you have got to try get around all of they obstacles with out dropping your egg. It was quite hard at first but you got the hang of it. I like how it was hard because I don't really like easy challenges when it comes to sport. my second favourite was the tug of war , because we had to compete against lots of competitors it was really hard. there was four teams on each side of the rope the team to to the right won. And those are my favourite tabloid games.

Cullens Tabloid sports reflection

On Monday 19 February  we had tabloid sports it's alot of fun activities put into one day. my favourite was the egg and spoon race my reason was because it's very challenging i was alright but i drooped it once ore twice i like things not to easy but not to hard so egg and soon race is almost perfect. my second favourite is the sack race it's very fun and a little hard because you jump in a sack and hop around and race other people i also alright sack race because i got the hops. That's my tabloid sports reflection.

Avigail's Reflection On Tabliod Sports

At Tabloid Sports Day we get to be in mixed year groups. I was in group 24. We also get to do some challenging but fun sports activities like egg and spoon race, sack race, sponge race and many more! My favourite was the parachute because all you have to do was pull the parachute up and down. The bonus thing about the parachute is that we get to play some mini games like cat and mouse and many more. The very last activity we had was the House Colour Tug a war. Tabloid sports day was the best sports event but still I was tried at the end of the day.

Harrison tabloid sports

Emily's Reflection on tabloids

Hooray! it's tabloids today I'm so excited cause we get to hear who turns into a house captain. When the bell rang for school we done the roll then we had a number on our hand to show where we will be  and what group we will be in. once we first got into our groups we heard a funny sound ... OOH! OOH! OOH!  it was the siren. OK we are going to announce the new 2017 house captains. Colour by colour until I heard Hillary was up then I heard my name. Yes! I'm a house captain. then we started tabloids, My favourite was the para-shoot cause when you pull the para-shoot up then Mr Cowie called a colour we ran and feeling the wind when pulling it down.
