Reading

In room 15, my reading group have been reading a book called Super Finn. It's about a boy who wants to be a superhero. Despite being told by teachers, family and friends, Finn never stopped trying. He has been told many times that if he failed one more time during a project that he would have to redo the year. Finn is determined to get an achieved on his careers project, and when he based it on being a superhero, he had everybody lining up with questions. Super Finn is a great example of perseverance and expressing. The fact that when someone tries something and really puts their mind to it, they can achieve anything.

Winter sports - Soccer

For the last 2 weeks we have been doing winter sports. We did soccer. We have been going out onto the field in the morning and been learning some soccer skills. I have learnt how to dribble with the ball, try to keep the ball away from other players by keeping the side of my body facing them, and our class have been learning not to kick the ball with our toes or else we'll lose control of the ball. We have to kick our ball with the sides of our feet. I really enjoyed soccer and I'd like to do it again.

Statistics

In room 15 we made a graph about everyone's favourite snack food. This is a pie graph. We found we could change the type of graph just by moving the squares around. We had different colours for each different category. Green was fruits and veges, purple was drinks, pink was sweets and desserts and blue was other. The most common food was fruits and veges and the least common was other.

Filipe's Swimming Experience

Everyone was getting ready to go into the pool. I had to get changed into my togs to get into the pool to swim. Then Miss Wyllie called the name out for the people to swim. Then it was my turn to go into the pool to do freestyle. When I just got into the pool, it was chilly. The water was enormous.

Senior Swimming Sports

On Wednesday in week 5 the senior syndicate had our annual swimming sports event. We had to listen to the teachers and follow their instructions so we knew what to do. We have learnt so many different strokes in our  swimming practice. Can you guess what our favourite stroke is?
