  1. Wow room 12! you guys know a lot about Waitangi Day! it really is a special day in NZ history isn't it and is such an important thing to celebrate! What do you think about the governments proposal to Mondaynise it? (Where they will pass a bill saying that it has to be on the first Monday in Feb every year instead of on the 6th Feb.) Do you agree or disagree?
Keep up the great work guys!

Hi there quadblogging buddies, I am sorry I cannot reply to all of your questions
and stuff, but what I would like to answer was Paloma's question:

The English and Maori were at war for a very long time, and my guess is that
we had the treaty because they didn't want to wage war anymore. But we celebrate this day
because, well, we still might be having war!!!

      Bye!!!

  9. Hi Room 12
It's great to see all the amazing comments above about your Waitangi day voicethread. I want to know the same questions that Mrs Gunn posed to you. Do you think it's a good idea to have Waitangi day on the first Monday of February every year or should we keep it as the 6th Feb and not worry about what day of the week it is on.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!
