Todays Post is.....
Hello Friends! In Room 15 we have welcomed a new Year six student Rose. She has moved from Taupo which quite a long way away.
In other news we had a fire drill on Wednesday! I mean it was not scary but actually quite educational on what to do in a fire!
The weather has turned a corner and is now gorgeous but also still feels like 190 degrees! If your class reads out the weather each day check out this website it is very helpful:

Anyway thanks for reading this short post. Here is your question for the week:
What do you do to keep nice and cool?

Lunch Time Swims/Rainy day activites
It has been so hot lately, practically like 109 degrees (not literally but it feels like it). So we need to cool off. Maybe swimming first thing in the morning isn't really that fun but lunch time swims are necessary! Every day will be a lunchtime swim (unless its raining, i'll get into that later) for the Middle Syndicate or the Senior Syndicate.
To be able to swim at lunch time, you need to be one of the first 30 people at the pool gate lined up nicely. You need your togs obviously and of course a good attitude. Whilst swimming, you will notice a teacher. That teacher is who you need to go to if you have a problem in the pool.
The changing rooms may be packed yeah yeah but what do you do? Do you wait, squeeze in and kick someone out or ask the teacher if you can go the bathrooms? Well I suggest asking the teacher to get changed in the bathrooms or just waiting which may be a while.
Uh Oh! *Pit Pat Pit Pat* Its raining, to the classroom! So it has been raining quite a lot over the past couple of days but what is there to do in class? Here are a few options:
- Read a book
- Ask a teacher to play on a Netbook or ipad (Remember learning games only)
-See if your class has board games that are easy to tidy up
- Art
- Ask your teacher to put a short film on
There will always be a teacher patrolling each syndicate so if you have a problem, tell that teacher when He/She comes to your class!
I hope these tips helped!

Welcome back!
Welcome back everybody! Its 2016 which means its a New Year and it also means new students! We need to welcome these students and make them feel comfortable at our school by helping them if their lost, making sure they know their way around and helping them make new friends. We are also lucky enough to get to swim in our school pool this year. As you may or may not know, the pool does need renovations so we need to be extra careful and try not to break anything. Also make sure not to run beside the pool since it may be slippery! Make sure to listen to your teachers every single day and you may get rewarded for it! Be sure to put 100% effort into your work as well! I hope you have a wonderful 2016!

Art
In Room 15 we have been doing art! We have doing all kinds of art like henna art, cartoon art and 2 point perspective. Henna art: Henna art is a very detailed piece of body art, You use Henna paste to create the art on your body this art can take up to 2 and a half days. Cartoon Art: Cartoon art can be cute but very complicated, Like cute cat eyes can look easy but are very hard! 2 point perspective: 2 Point Perspective is a very very awesome 3D looking piece of art, You can do the art in boxes or words. Here are some links to the you tube videos that we learnt how to draw cartoon and 2 point perspective drawings.

Introducing new people to Vardon
On the first day of term 3 we welcomed our new Deputy Principle Mr. Cowie. Mr. Cowie came from Qatar in Dubai. He was a maths teacher. Mr. Cowie is really nice. Over the last couple of days he has been touring the school and learning all of our names. His office is in the school library. Also this term Room 16 opened. At the moment there is only nine students in there but i think it will grow. Our school would like to welcome Mr. Cowie and our new pupils (students)!

Wonderful Water
In Room 15 we read a book about saving water. There was a list of different activity's we had to do and the last activity was making a save the earths water poster. Did you know that 1% of the earths water is for drinking and using water for humans? Water is the most valuable thing a human could have. Oil is less valuable than water because you can survive without oil but you can't live without water. If we didn't have water this would happen: Plants die which means animals would because they would have no food then we would die because we would have no food or water. As you can see it is a possibility that we could run out of water which means we need to moderate our intake and make sure we are not polluting our water because if we pollute our ocean we will slowly
have less and less water which means we would have no water.
